Challenge of the day:
We have two sets of navigation for the CWU site. Here, I am working to make the navigation feel natural and accessible for all user personas on mobile devices. Sometimes it helps to change things up by presenting them in physical space and moving fast with a Sharpie to get ideas out and use your whole body as you think and solve, instead of just sitting at your laptop.
Navigation is divided into two branches. The first is what we are calling  "global navigation" that will follow you through all 200+ instances of the CMS. Each instance or "site" houses information limited to a specific organization or department on campus. The second is the "local navigation," which is site-specific.
Above is a photo of the paper comps that help me iterate quickly and describe actions for team members without having to render high fidelity comps.
